This article walks you through managing your practice's contact roster in the GVMA Portal — adding contacts, removing contacts, and assigning the right role to each person. Use the Table of Contents below to jump to the section you need.
Sign In and Open Your Roster
- How do I get to my practice's contact roster?
Sign in to the GVMA Portal. Once you're in, go to the Account menu and select My Organization's Contacts, or go straight to your roster at members.gvma.net/profile/manageOrganizationContacts.
Remove a Contact
- How do I remove someone from my roster?
Click Remove next to the contact's name, then confirm by clicking Yes on the pop-up.
Add a Contact
- How do I add someone to my roster?
Click Add New Contact at the bottom of the roster and enter the new contact's information.
Pro tip: enter the new contact's email first. If you see the message "This email address is currently registered to…," you won't be able to add them directly — this protects the account holder's security. You have two options from there: the individual can sign into their own account and update their organization (which auto-adds them to your roster), or you can submit a support ticket and we'll get them added for you.
Assign the Right Role
- What roles can I assign, and what does each one do?
Every contact should have at least one role. Assign the role(s) that match what the person actually needs to do:
Administrative Contact — full control of the organizational account.
Billing Contact — receives all practice invoices.
Manager — can manage employee and membership rosters and pay invoices on behalf of the practice.
A contact can hold more than one role. For example, an office manager who handles both invoicing and roster changes should be assigned both Billing Contact and Manager.
Update Someone's Role
- How do I change a contact's role?
Click the Edit button next to their information, update the role(s), and save.
